Kitchen Renovation in Sarnia: Opening Up the Main Floor

This Sarnia kitchen renovation started with a main floor that was closed in and cut up into small rooms. Signature Lux opened it up so the kitchen, dining area and front entry all flow together, and light reaches every corner.
The old stairwell walls came down. In their place we built a black-framed glass wall that follows the angle of the stairs. It keeps the stairwell safe but lets you see right through, so the space feels twice as big.
The kitchen got a full rebuild. White shaker cabinets go all the way to the ceiling for extra storage. A black range hood with brass lights on each side gives the room a bold focal point. The big quartz island has a workstation sink with a built-in cutting board, a built-in power outlet, and room for four stools. A lower wood table attaches to the end of the island, so there’s a spot for the kids or extra guests.
Small details make it special. A curved wood archway leads out of the kitchen. The stairs got new oak railings with black spindles to match the black hardware throughout.
